The charmed life

I am enjoying being a student to the hilt. Being a postgraduate student probably makes a huge difference. There is enough work to keep you occupied for the entire day and yet there is carefree feeling associated with it. The so called adult pressures of earning, "office work", bill payments are the last thing on your mind. Yes, the money paid for the course is quite a hefty amount but its not playing in your head every month like rent payments do.

Cheap thrills of being a student also deserves a mention. The student discounts at various shops, cheap food at the university campus and the supposed discounted rates for all parties. Out of all the experiences of being a student, the one I am enjoying the most is living in a student accommodation. Its a nice flat with only the kitchen and common room being shared amongst all the occupants. The hygiene levels are certainly questionable but its still inhabitable. I like the fact that if I am bored of cooking I can just pop over to someone's flat for a meal. I like my study lamp because that combined with the books completes my 'student feeling'.

I even like the exams I have to take. I am enjoying studying for them. The pressure to perform well exists but its more of a motivation. The pressure has become the pleasure if we were to apply the pain and pleasure principle to this. (Yes, thats a perverted statement taken on its own). Now I wish the masters course lasted another year, just so that I could bask in the student feeling for a bit longer. Its commendable how I have the urge to blog just a couple of days before my exam. Yet another student feeling! As exams draw closer the number of distracting activities increase exponentially. Ok, must study now.

I could be a student all my life if only they would pay me. I would do a good job of it :-)
